Ozzy Guitarist Gus G. Plotting Solo Album

As if holding down guitar duties in both Ozzy Osbourne and Firewind wasn’t enough to keep him occupied, metal guitarist Gus G. is apparently plotting a solo album.

Speaking with Rock Overdose, Gus G. has revealed that he’s been “collecting ideas and writing demos” in an effort to release his first solo album and “believes that it is the right time to do it.” Gus G. also says he’ll have guest singers on certain songs on the album, in addition to instrumental tracks. Look for the solo set to arrive in 2013, if everything goes as planned.

As for Firewind, next year marks the band’s 10th anniversary, and Gus says to expect a live album to drop in honor of the landmark, as well as other commemorative goodies. No word on too many plans with Ozzy yet, but we do know Ozzfest will make its inaugural Japan appearance in March of 2013, and the current lineup boasts Tool, Slash, Black Sabbath and Slipknot, to name a few.
