Former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri has reunited with the band to help out on the group’s forthcoming new album.
A Facebook post from Oliveri’s current band, Mondo Generator, states: “NEWS: Nick has re-joined Kyuss, and has recently recorded his vocals on a new Queens of the Stone Age song! Stay tuned.” Oliveri attended high school with Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme, and the two played with Kyuss before forming QOTSA. Oliveri was let go from the band in 2004.
Earlier it was announced that Dave Grohl and Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor are contributing to the new album as well. Queens of the Stone Age have been confirmed as headliners for next years’ Open’er Festival in Poland, and will also play the Download Festival in England in June.
